The $16,500 Stand Up Surf Shop - King of the Cut is held along on the beautiful Peel Coast line where the famed, powerful and consistent West Coast Seabreeze blows perfect, un-interrupted runners like an endless conveyor belt.

In it's 4th year, the King of the Cut is run by SUPWA and proudly sponsored by Stand Up Surf Shop and presented by Redink Homes.

Entries close 2nd of December at midnight. Late entries will be accepted after this along with a $10 late entry fee on the online portal.

Divisions:

In accordance with the SUPAA Rule Book, there will be a Male and Female Pro Class that will compete for the allocated prize money regardless of age group. A competitor is classed as a Pro Class competitor if they have finished in the top ten of a SUPAA Pro event (Top 5 in this particular event) or if they elect to enter the Pro Class for this event (thereby becoming ineligible for their age group). An Unlimited board is eligible for the King (or Queen) of the Cut (first paddler home), but not for the Pro Class prize money (14' only).

All other competitors will register in their age group (still remaining eligible for a Pro Class finish). Age group trophies are allocated,  but not prize money.

*The King of the Cut has a 2 day window for the best conditions - Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th. Please keep this in mind when booking return flights.

Wardan Marr Week - Downwind WA

Wardan Marr is Noongar for Sea Breeze, describing the consistent wind that hits the Southern WA Coast from noon, every day over summer. The first week of December is the most reliable time for strong winds and optimal downwind conditions in Perth. Wardan Marr Week, constitutes five downwind events to appeal to every downwind SUP paddler.

 

1. The Doctor (28th November)

2. The Ship2Shore (29th November)

The biggest SUP particpation event in WA. 7km paddle from Port Beach to Swanbourne Beach. A great vibe of SUP community, not a race, but a gathering of like minded people enjoying the ocean together and having a great fun DW. 3. The Triple SSS  (2nd December)

4. The Stand Up Surf Shop King of the Cut (5th December) 

The biggest SUP Downwinder in Australia. 24km of groomed Downwind heaven.

 

5. SUPWA SUPer Cricket & Casual Downwinder

Down in the Mandurah, the first half of the the King of the Cut (10km) from the Dawesville Cut to Silver Sands Beach. Catch up for a drink at SUPWA - HQ Silver Sands!

Pre race registration:
PLEASE NOTE Registration will take place at the FINISH (Secret Harbour Surf Club) between 0830 hrs and 0930hrs with a race briefing 1030, to enable vehicle drop off.

Board measurement (14' class only) and safety equipment scrutineering will take place between 0830 - 0930. You need to have your board measured and safety equipment checked prior to registration.

Start : The starting point will be between a start vessel and the end of the Northern groyne at the ocean end of the Dawesville Cut.
There will be mass start for competitors at 1200hrs.

Delicious post event food and drink available at the Secret Harbour Surf Club.
