This Sunday morning, the 9th of April come down for the Easter PaddleLoop. Easter egg hunt for the kids and a great way of earning the choccy's for the following weekend! See you at Deep Water Point Mt Pleasant. Registration 0700 for a 0730 start. Come down to Deep Water Point Mt Pleasant, it's a free event for SUPWA members or $3 to non members, just nominate your completion time. 1. The Long Loop - 4.2km (below 30mins is a good time for strong paddler) 2. Short Loop - 2.2km (below 15mins is a good time for a strong paddler) All board lengths and types are welcome - It isn't a race, but about having fun. Nominate a time that you think you will achieve - next PaddleLoop try and beat that time. The trick is to paddle consistently at a speed you feel comfortable with - which is entirely up to you! The winner is the person closest to their nominated time.  The winners receives a great SUPWA T'shirt for those closest to their time - also the top 5 paddlers (closest to their time) receive Pod Points for their Pod. It's a fun opportunity to get involved with the very friendly SUPWA community and try or develop your SUP paddling. Get some tips, have some fun or have a goal for fitness. SUPWA to organise prizes and present them at end of race.  This will be part of the National Competition Format. 11am Team Events – encourage team nominations for Corporates, Sporting Teams, Family etc – if this is just on the foreshore and we can make them fun events that include some paddling, but also some beach games, we won’t need Surf Life Saving in such large numbers and Sea Rescue.  If only entering team events, registration $15 per person however no Paddle Pack to be received – just covers insurance etc.  Registration Cost per participant includes: a)      Day 1 Events; b)      Band/Entertainment; c)      Sausage Sizzle Participant Breakfast/Tea/Coffee; d)      Mini Tour of UWO; e)      Day 2 Events; f)       Prizes; g)      Commemorative Hat Event Kookaburra Caravan Park is just across the road from the Jetty and has Powered Tent Sites and Caravan Sites for $38.50 on April 1 and 2.   People can all stay in the same area.  Those who don’t have a tent or caravan can book a cabin from $83 per night to $130.

SUPWA & The Stand Up Surf Shop are ready for some Shaka Fun & you're invited. It's a unique event including LongSUP boards for surfers large and small, male and female, experienced and novice, with the opportunity to compete in a fun environment that requires competitors to perform tricks aligned with longboard surfing criteria. Please note that The Wedge Island Shaka also caters for individuals with novice experience, so if you can't do a lot on a wave, that's ok, come & get wet & have fun, plus learn in a fun atmosphere.    Day 1 Saturday 25 March - Divisions Include; Male and Female (Shaka LongSUP) Junior SUP Short/LongSUP Board Day 2, Sunday 26 March - Divisions Include; Male and Female SUP Short Board The event also provides elite short board competitors with a lead in event to the Surfing WA - Stand Up Paddle State Title, Round 1 – Rottnest Island. The Paddlesports SUP5000 One of the most fun SUP events on the SUPWA calendar. You race and then relax paddle back to the start to repeat a shorter distance.   Flatwater for the Masses returns for 2017. Usually the last goodbye to a summer of flatwater racing before the winter swells start to sneak up the coast. This is access racing to all levels, with short distance, but tightly run schedule, making it possible the most hardest yet strangely fun 5500 meters you'll ever do. The Eaton Foreshore Festival runs in the back ground making a family day out for those who family members are happy to support the event from food stalls or sideshow alley. The Ultimate SUP DownWinder-DownUnder The Stand Up Surf Shop King of the Cut is held along on the beautiful Peel Coast line where the famed, powerful and consistent West Coast Seabreeze blows perfect, un-interrupted runners like an endless conveyor belt. Please note the 1/2 Cut is on Saturday and the King of the Cut in on Sunday now due to weather conditions. In it's 5th year, the 2016 edition of the King of the Cut has some exciting additions: 1. The Half Cut - a shorter 10km race. Utilising the first half of the King of the Cut Course. This event will be held on the Sunday, the day after the main race. 2. The Sea Rescue Gratitude Run - a crusiey 10km Downwinder free for all entered competitors from the full King of the Cut. Great way to enjoy the first half of the Cut course after the big race the day before and support the Mandurah Sea Rescue service. BBQ at finsh as fundraiser for MSR. 3. Prize Money for the King & Queen of the Cut. This year sees prize money for the first paddler across the line (TBA). This opens up the unlimited class to take a share of the prize money from the Pro Class. 4. Outriggers For The Cut - This year the organisers have invited Outriggers (OC1) to compete in the King of the Cut. The Outrigger community shares similar values to the SUP community and having this traditional craft involved in Australia's Premier SUP Downwind Event is a great addition. Welcome onboard Outriggers! Late entry fee $10 - entries available up until event Divisions: In accordance with the SUPAA Rule Book, there will be a Male and Female Pro Class that will compete for the allocated prize money regardless of age group. A competitor is classed as a Pro Class competitor if they have finished in the top ten of a SUPAA Pro event (Top 5 in this particular event) or if they elect to enter the Pro Class for this event (thereby becoming ineligible for their age group). An Unlimited board is eligible for the King (or Queen) of the Cut (first paddler home), but not for the Pro Class prize money (14' only). All other competitors will register in their age group (still remaining eligible for a Pro Class finish). Sea Rescue Gratitude Run - All competitors from the KotC the day before are invited to participate in the Sea Rescue Gratitude Run, which starts just after the 1/2 Cut along the course. Proceeds from this run will go towards the Mandurah Sea Rescue and the run is a social DW to support both the MSR and the 1/2 Cut paddlers - just a cruisey DW! Board measurement (14' class only) and safety equipment scrutineering will take place between 0930 - 1030. You need to have your board measured and safety equipment checked prior to registration. Start : The starting point will be between a start vessel and the end of the Northern groyne at the ocean end of the Dawesville Cut. There will be mass start for competitors at 1330hrs.
