Bunburt Wavemasters Battle of the Blades

Bunbury Wavemasters Battle of the Blades will be accepting entries on the day Saturday 12th December from 1100 - 1230 at Ridley's Place Australind

A fun safe downwind course held in enclosed waters, with full water support from Bunbury Sea rescue. Some great prizes on offer as well as the best race raffle yet, prizes including a Carbon paddle, $100 store voucher from YOB Australia and an official SUPWA sanctioned signed King of the Cut Race singlet. All proceeds going to Bunbury Sea rescue.
This course offers something for both the competitive paddlers as well as newer paddlers looking to discover downwind paddling with out dealing with sometimes confusing ocean swells.

The $16,500 Stand Up Surf Shop - King of the Cut is held along on the beautiful Peel Coast line where the famed, powerful and consistent West Coast Seabreeze blows perfect, un-interrupted runners like an endless conveyor belt.
In it's 4th year, the King of the Cut is run by SUPWA and proudly sponsored by Stand Up Surf Shop and presented by Redink Homes.
Entries close 2nd of December at midnight. Late entries will be accepted after this along with a $10 late entry fee on the online portal.
Divisions:
In accordance with the SUPAA Rule Book, there will be a Male and Female Pro Class that will compete for the allocated prize money regardless of age group. A competitor is classed as a Pro Class competitor if they have finished in the top ten of a SUPAA Pro event (Top 5 in this particular event) or if they elect to enter the Pro Class for this event (thereby becoming ineligible for their age group). An Unlimited board is eligible for the King (or Queen) of the Cut (first paddler home), but not for the Pro Class prize money (14' only).
All other competitors will register in their age group (still remaining eligible for a Pro Class finish). Age group trophies are allocated, but not prize money.

Wardan Marr Week - Downwind WA
Wardan Marr is Noongar for Sea Breeze, describing the consistent wind that hits the Southern WA Coast from noon, every day over summer. The first week of December is the most reliable time for strong winds and optimal downwind conditions in Perth. Wardan Marr Week, constitutes five downwind events to appeal to every downwind SUP paddler.
1. The Doctor (28th November)

2. The Ship2Shore (29th November)
The biggest SUP particpation event in WA. 7km paddle from Port Beach to Swanbourne Beach. A great vibe of SUP community, not a race, but a gathering of like minded people enjoying the ocean together and having a great fun DW. 3. The Triple SSS (2nd December)

Pre race registration:
PLEASE NOTE Registration will take place at the FINISH (Secret Harbour Surf Club) between 0830 hrs and 0930hrs with a race briefing 1030, to enable vehicle drop off.
Board measurement (14' class only) and safety equipment scrutineering will take place between 0830 - 0930. You need to have your board measured and safety equipment checked prior to registration.
Start : The starting point will be between a start vessel and the end of the Northern groyne at the ocean end of the Dawesville Cut.
There will be mass start for competitors at 1200hrs.
Delicious post event food and drink available at the Secret Harbour Surf Club.

SUPWA SUPer BBQ & International Cricket Challenge - Free Event
Please note that this event has been moved form Sunday to Saturday and no BBQ now - sorry for any inconvenience, hey its a weather based sport!
The final day of Wardan Marr Week will be a casual Downwinder (replacing the cancelled Duel Race) from the Dawesville Cut to Silver Sands (first half of the KotC Course). This will be a "cruise in company" style DW, not an organised event, but a chance to just hang out with new friends and old mate - enjoying a cruisy downwinder.
Arrive at 183 Ormsby Tce in Silver Sands from 3-5pm - which is a beach front home just north of the Mandurah inlet. Plenty of space on the front yard for boards. Park you car prior to the DW at the house, trailers will be taking boards up to the start (for trailer use get to Ormsby Tce at 1300) - limited space on trailers.
An game of 10/10 Cricket will be played - WA vs the Rest of the World, from 4pm so get there on tim eto participate - open to everyone!

The Shorehouse Ship2Shore

Formally known as the Fig2Fig, The Shorehouse Ship 2 Shore is a celebration of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) proudly presented by Starboard. This participation event is unique as it embraces all Skill levels and gives the opportunity to paddle in a large controlled group. SUP professionals will chaperone those less experienced down the 7km course From Port beach to Swanbourne offering guidance along the way. For the more experienced paddlers come and race for the perpetual trophy and glory. Experience the thrill of ocean paddling and then celebrate your achievements and meet other SUPpers at the post event function at the new Shorehouse.
Entry includes annual event t-shirt, after event drinks and nibbles at a small cost and the chance to make friends with other paddlers. You can bask in the glory of possibly winning; Youngest Competitor, Oldest Competitor, Best Wipeout and a perpetual award for Fastest Male and Female competitor!
Registration will be taking place from 10am through till noon at the Shorehouse in Swanbourne. Event briefing will take place at 12.30pm with a 1.30pm start to the race to allow adequate vehicle drops and board shuffles up to Port Beach, Fremantle.
$35 for SUPWA members and $50 non-members. Great value with food and quality event T'shirt included. Make sure you invite friends and family to watch you finish and enjoy the after event function.

SUP Central 2016 Flatwater20 Extravaganza
The 2016 Event is formatted to allow paddlers of all ages and abilities to participate and witness the incredible endurance and abilities of Western Australia’s elite SUP race paddlers, as they compete for state titles and prepare to take on the world’s best in the upcoming Doctor and world renowned King of The Cut events.
The event is held in the upper reaches of the Swan River, Belmont Waters at the Ascot Kayak Club and is sure to attract large numbers so don’t miss the first event on SUPWA’s 2016 Racing Calendar.
For the first time the FW20 will have a PaddleLoop style format. The 3 person teams will nominate their total time for the 15km course (each paddler either doing a 5km lap or electing to form a 3 person "drafting train" to compelete the course). So you can "Race it or Cruise it!". Fantastic event for paddlers that enjoy the monthly 4km PaddleLoops - the 5km distance is very achievable and in the beautiful sheltered surrounds of Ascot waters

Short Course: Distance 3.6km. Start line will be on the eastern side of Busselton Jetty on the foreshore, in front of the Goose Bar & Kitchen, heading northbound to the end and continuing around the Busselton Jetty to the western side to return to the finish line on the beach at the swimming area on the foreshore.
Advanced Course: Distance 7km. Start line will be on the eastern side of Busselton Jetty on the foreshore, in front of the Goose Bar & Kitchen, heading northbound to the end and continuing around the Busselton Jetty to the western side to the Landing 2a (marked approx. 1.7km down the west side) where competitors will pass under the jetty and loop back to the end and around the jetty to the western side to the finish line on the beach at the swimming area on the foreshore.

Come down to Deep Water Point for the October SUPWA Paddle Loop.
It's a special one with our WOW, Women On Water clinic to be held after the paddle loop, pick up some great paddling tips from the States best. We will also have a sup yoga demonstration to keep you chilled. After all this a bbq with a gold coin donation if you like :-)
This will be our last loop for the year as we have other events scheduled for November & December. It's a free event for SUPWA members or $3 to non members by putting in your nominated time for either distance:
1. The Long Loop - 4.2km (below 30mins is a good time for strong paddler)
2. Short Loop - 2.2km (below 15mins is a good time for a strong paddler)
All board lengths and types are welcome - whether you have a SUP Surf or race board.
It isn't a race, but about having fun. Nominate a time that you think you will achieve - next Paddle Loop try and beat that time. The trick is to paddle consistently at a speed you feel comfortable with - which is entirely up to you! The winner is the person closest to their nominated time. Receive a great SUPWA T'shirt - also the top 3 paddlers (closest to their time) receive Pod Points for their Pod.
Our last paddle loop for the year is a great opportunity to get involved with the very friendly SUPWA community and develop your SUP paddling with our WOW clinic & SUP Yoga demonstration. Get some tips & most of all have fun. The paddle loop is open to all levels and all ages. (kids under 10 should be accompanied by an adult around the course).
Thanks to Stand Up Paddle Sports we will have some boards & paddles available if you don't have a sup.
